Dental crowns

When a tooth is cracked, heavily filled, or worn down, a crown restores its full strength and shape — a custom-made cap that looks and works like the tooth you started with.

When a crown is the right answer

Crowns protect teeth that fillings can no longer save: large cavities, cracks, root-canal-treated teeth, and worn or broken teeth. Done well, a crown lets you bite, chew, and smile without thinking about the tooth again — often for a decade or more.

Designed digitally, matched to you

Your crown starts with an iTero digital scan — no goopy impressions — and is shaped and shaded to blend with your natural teeth, not stand out from them. Dr. Khan checks fit, bite, and color before anything is final, and adjusts until it feels like yours.

Honest guidance first

Not every damaged tooth needs a crown, and we'll tell you when a smaller filling or onlay will do the job. When a crown genuinely is the right call, you'll see clear pricing before treatment begins — and insurance benefits are verified up front so there are no surprises.

Common questions

How many visits does a dental crown usually take?+

Most crowns are completed in two visits: the first to prepare the tooth and take a digital scan, the second to fit and bond the finished crown. You'll wear a temporary crown in between.

Do I need a crown or will a filling do?+

Fillings work when enough healthy tooth structure remains to support them. A crown becomes the better answer when decay or a crack is extensive, after root canal treatment, or when a large old filling has weakened the tooth around it. We'll show you the imaging and explain which applies to your tooth.

Will my crown match my other teeth?+

Yes — crowns are shaped and shade-matched to blend with your surrounding teeth. Fit, bite, and color are all checked before anything is permanently placed.
